Project Description
This apartment is situated on the waterfront in a prime real estate location. Our clients engaged us to help them create a home that reflected on its beautiful surroundings.
The existing kitchen was functional, but dated and closed off to the rest of the living area. Our first goal was to create a design that opened up the space and allowed clear access to and from the kitchen while creating a space that is prime for entertaining. The large island now faces out across the dining room, perfect for engaging with guests while cooking and with ample seating for casual dining occasions.
We used the challenging wall configuration to our advantage to create a very functional cooking zone with plenty of set down space, access to small appliances and preparation space.
The large lounge area was crying out for some cabinetry that could serve as both functional storage and an entertainment unit. We used the whole wall to build in a huge custom joinery piece that tied in perfectly with the kitchen and new home office space. We introduced VJ paneling to each of the spaces to create a consistent them alongside the secondary blue cabinetry to add that pop of colour that our clients were looking for.
In the bathrooms we continued the theme adding textured blue subway tiles as a feature inside a bright, neutral palette of greys and whites. Brushed brass fixtures were used to add an element of luxe the bathrooms which complimented the timber accents in the shelving and vanity.
